Changes...
Below are some changes that I have made to my front cover as a result of some feedback that I received.
As you can see from above, I have highlighted the areas which I have changed.
Firstly, I changed my slogo from "Music to the eyes" to "Music, Reviews and Interviews." I felt that this new slogo gave the potential reader a clearer idea on what my magazine was about and what it would contain. As well as changing the slogo I also changed the price. This was because my feedback that it was very cheap, especially- for the style of magazine that I was aiming to create.
I also shrunk the flash on the front cover and also changed the text within it, making it more specific. As result of shrinking it, this freed up space that allowed me to move my articles down, creating a slighter bigger gap between them and the lead article and pull quote.

Construction of my Magazine
I firstly started by choosing an appropriate background colour.
I then made sure to show the grid on my page. This was very important as it helps to keep everything inline and within the invisible borders around the edge.
I then added the masthead using the 'Horizontal Type Tool' on Photoshop. The font style I chose was 'Times New Roman'.
After adding the masthead I then had to put the main image onto the front cover. Before doing this I had to open the image and cut it out using the 'Magnetic Lasso Tool'.
After adding the images I put all of the other articles on the front cover and aligned them along the left hand side, in the left third. In order to achieve the effect I was after, I firstly used the 'Rectangular Marquee Tool' to create a box and then filled it in with the same brown/black colour as my masthead. Once I had the correct size boxes and had put them in the appropriate places, I added text over the top of them, in the same font style, 'Times New Roman', and using the same blue colour as the background.
After finishing the articles I added a 'pull quote' from the main article. I also used the same yellow/gold colour for the words 'exclusive interview.'
Next, I added a flash. I used the 'Elliptical Marquee Tool' to make a circle and then filled it with a yellow/gold colour. I then added text over the top. This flash will help to encourage people to purchase the magazine as they will be getting something for free as a result of buying it. The free download will also help to increase traffic towards the magazines website and other online services.
After the flash I made sure to add my 'Slogo' and also the price and date of this particular edition. I once again just used the 'Horizontal Type Tool' and also used the same font once again (Times New Roman) in order to keep a consistent design throughout.
I lastly added a 'Cover Line' to my front cover which helps to further advertise the other articles within the magazine. As well as the cover line along the bottom I have included a barcode, which is very important for magazines and can be found on all professional magazines.
